Het idee achter de Scouting Das Dag op 1 Augustus is dat alle actieve en voormalige Scouts gevraagd worden hun Scoutingdas openlijk te dragen om het gedachtengoed van Scouting uit te dragen: Eens een Scout – Altijd een Scout!
De datum van dit evenement is gekozen om het allereerste Scouting Kamp op Brownsea Eiland in 1907 te gedenken.
Uiteraard is de das slechts een symbool, wel is het een krachtig symbool dat staat voor de Scoutingbelofte en onze missie de wereld beter achter te laten dan we haar hebben aangetroffen.

The idea of “Scout Scarf Day” on August 1 is that all active and former scouts are requested to wear their scout scarfs in public to make the “Spirit of Scouting” visible: Once a Scout – Always a Scout!

The date of the event commemorates the very first Scout Camp on Brownsea Island in 1907.Of course, the scarf is only a symbol but a strong symbol for the scout promise and for our mission to leave the world as a bit better a place than we had found it.
